The Oscar winner recently opened up to Esquire U.K. about his sexuality in the cover story for the magazine's January issue.

"[A headline read] 'George Clooney’s Gay-Gay-Gay.' And I said, 'I’m gay-gay. The third one’s pushing it,'" he recalled to the British publication about how the gossip started. "Well now, [according to the Internet] I'm gay. You’re not going [to deny it] because that’s flat out hurtful to the gay community."

For years, talk has circulated about the sexual preferences of Hollywood's Most Eligible Bachelor.

In , his ex-girlfriend, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis, made headlines for saying she and the year-old Clooney had a "father-daughter" relationship. She claimed their romance ended not because of marriage issues, but because of their "personal needs."

Clooney previously addressed the gay rumors in an interview with the Advocate last year, again refusing to deny them.

When the world heard that George Clooney is single after his recent split from model Elisabetta Canalis, rumours about his sexuality went into overdrive.

But his fasten friend has dismissed rumours that ‘Hollywood’s most eligible bacherlor’ is gay.

Businessman Manuele Malenotti, who owns clothing firm Belstaff, said the year-old Hollywood star had broken up with glamorous model, simply because he did not want to settle down and include children.

"I have known George for ten years, I have spent a lot of time with him and a lot of women have passed through his life," the Daily Mail quoted him as telling Italian magazine Chi.

"You never know in existence, and men are having an identity crisis but I can tell you George is not gay," he added.

Malenotti, who said he introduced the couple two years ago, denied the relationship was just a publicity stunt, amid rumours in Italy that Miss Canalis had been paid to attend red carpet events with Clooney.

“I introduced them, I saw them together and I can say their passion story was very intense,” he said.
