Why Pride month is still needed

The following piece was created by a PAPYRUS staff member to celebrate Celebration month, and underline the importance of celebrating LGBTQIA+ people not just in June, but all year round.

Lots of people ask why Pride month is still needed, and to some people outside of the LGBTQIA+ community, it can look love Pride isn’t necessary anymore. But there are many reasons why Pride month is still needed, and – as a lesbian gal – I’d enjoy to share with you how I think celebrating Identity festival can be a good thing for young LGBTQIA+ people, including those who experience thoughts of suicide.

Long history

Pride started as a object called the Stonewall Riots which happened because Police tried to raid the Stonewall Inn in New York. Event Month honours those who were part of the most important gay rights protests and is a reminder that Pride can still fight for our rights. It wasn’t until that June officially became Identity festival Month in the USA. It has since grown into a massive celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past scant decades and much of the progress in noticeability is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that hold taken place in cities around the world.

Date, parcours de la marche, thème du défilé, soirées Découvrez tout ce qu&#;il y a à savoir sur la Lgbtq+ Pride de Paris  !

Depuis , plus d’un demi-million de personnes défilent chaque année dans la rue lors de la Gay Pride, dans une ambiance festive et revendicative. Cette manifestation est unique en son genre, en ce qu’elle mobilise massivement non pour défendre un droit acquis ou contester une politique, mais d’abord pour proposer un projet de société fondé sur l’égalité et le respect.

Gay Pride de Paris  : La date

La Marche des Fiertés de Paris (plus couramment appelée "Gay Pride") aura lieu le 28 juin . Comme c&#;est la tradition, un grand podium sera installé en fin de parcours, place de la République, pour une grande arrivée festive et revendicative. De 17h à 22h, les artistes et les représentants associatifs s&#;y succèderont sur scène.
